How to wear a new band saw blade?

Release time:2018-04-03

The band saw blade can be said to be the largest consumable in the use of the metal band sawing machine. In order to ensure the sawing performance and the service life of the best saw blade, it is necessary to select an appropriate saw blade and perform proper running-in before use. If a new band saw blade is used without running, it will greatly reduce the service life of the saw blade. The lifetime of a blade that is not worn or not worn is one-third or less of a worn-in saw blade. Only half of the normal feed pressure/velocity and sawing speed can be used when the band saw blade is running in. After the sawing bed saws a surface area of 300-1000 cm2, the band sawing machine feed rate and sawing speed are gradually increased to normal values.

First, the sawing speed: The sawing speed is determined by the type of material, the width of the material, and the tension of the sawing band:

1. Harder materials must use lower saw blade speeds.

2. Smaller widths must use faster sawing speeds.

Second, with the sawdust under the sawing saw can see the sawing pressure and conditions are correct:

1. Very fine or powdery sawdust indicates that the feed rate should be increased or the speed of the sawing belt reduced.

2. Thick, heavy or blue sawdust indicates that the saw blade is overloaded. Reduce the feed rate or increase the speed of the sawing band. Loosely wound sawdust indicates an ideal sawing condition.

Third, the saw belt pressure and feed rate: saw blade pressure and feed rate determined by the type of material, the width of the material.

1. Harder materials and larger width materials require greater pressure and feed rates.

2. Softer materials and smaller widths require less pressure and feed rate.

IV. Contour cutting: Please select the most suitable type of saw blade according to the cutting material you need; then select the width of the saw blade according to the minimum curvature (radius) of the sawing material you need. The smaller the arc (radius), the narrower the width of the saw blade.

Fifth, cooling and lubrication: In most metal sawing processes, cooling and lubrication are indispensable. For cast iron, brass, and some non-metallic materials such as plastics and graphite, it may or may not be lubricated during processing.

6. Tension of saw blade: Before sawing with a new saw blade, first check its tension. If necessary, tighten after a small amount of sawing.

7. Saw band guide: The sawing accuracy depends on the setting of the band saw blade guide device: The closer the device is to the material, the higher the sawing accuracy, and the distance between the guide arm and the cutting material should not exceed 30 mm.

The running-in of the saw blade is a technology, which is the accumulation of experience. Only when there are many operations, the doorway can be slowly explored to find the most suitable running-in mode, so that the service life of the saw blade can be extended.
