Band saw blade selection Raiders

If a worker wants to do good, he must first sharpen his tools. Efficiently create value. In the field of sawing, aluminum is softer and less strong than steel, but its viscosity and abrasiveness are high. Therefore, the quality of the band saw blade is also relatively high.

BUE is the most common and difficult problem to solve when sawing aluminum. When sawing at high speed, the band saw blade generates a large amount of heat, resulting in a reduction in the hardness of the tip. When cutting aluminum, a large amount of chips are generated, and high-viscosity aluminum chips easily stick to the edge of the tooth to form a built-up edge. Therefore, the sawing aluminum pieces are suitable for the tooth profile with larger tooth grooves to facilitate chip removal and also increase the surface roughness of the workpiece.

Soft aluminum alloys are easily cut into the tip of the tooth, so the phenomenon of “overfeed” often occurs, resulting in excessive load on the tip. The high speed can effectively reduce the load on the tip of the tooth, and it can also better prevent chipping and teething.

In addition, the abrasiveness of aluminum accelerates the wear of the tip of the band saw blade and shortens the service life of the band saw blade. In general castings, the silicon Si content is about 6-20%, and the more complex castings, such as thin radiating fins, have higher silicon Si content. The higher the silicon content, the more hard spots will reduce the life of the band saw blade. In addition, alumina also produces hard spots and reduces the life of the saw blade.

Compared with ordinary carbon steel band saw blades, bimetal band saw blades and cemented carbide band saw blades have significantly improved efficiency when sawing aluminum. The speed of bi-metal band saw blade sawing aluminum can be controlled at about 150m/min-300m/min (horizontal sawing machine), sawing the gate of cast aluminum and the carbide band saw blade of the riser can be adjusted to 900m-1200m. /min. Carbide band saw blades have very good wear resistance when sawing aluminum, but not all sawing machines are suitable. Because band saws using carbide band saw blades require better rigidity, speed and feed can be stepless. For many common sawing machines, speed requirements cannot be achieved. Too low a belt speed will result in poor control and cutting. Therefore, the use of a bi-metal band saw blade will provide better results.

When sawing aluminum, 10% water-based or oil-based cutting fluid can be used, or special cutting aluminum cutting fluid can be used. This cutting fluid has better effect on preventing built-up edge and can also reduce sawing. Oxidation, to extend the life of the saw blade. Also note that when the cutting fluid is used, it does not need to be filled with a saw blade. Just pour it into the sawing area and rinse, lubricate and cool the tip of the work.
